Esquire had an interesting design for their Q&A interview with actor Patrick Stewart. I attempted to replicate the design using InDesign.
The design uses order to layout the information. Therefore, I used the same shapes and the align tool when placing information. For example, the four photos at the top of the page are equal in size and shape. They also all have a green font caption centered at the bottom of each photo.
The text is also all aligned. This alignment makes the design organized and easy to read.
I created the box at the corner by using the line tool. I also replicated the blue color as best I could by creating a new swatch.
The most difficult part of this replication I encountered was aligning the text and icons at the bottom of the page. It was difficult to fit all of the text and photos on the bottom without the items being too small.
