Meatballs impress the camera

I’ve always been in love with my mother’s meatball recipe. For this assignment we were asked to create a video slideshow that demonstrates a process.

Since I was a child, I have watched my mother cook the Italian classic on Sunday afternoons. In this video, I attempt to demonstrate how my mother makes the delicious meal.

While I was documenting my mother cook I was sure to shoot from a variety of angles. In the video, there are photos up close to the food and some that are a bit further away. This makes the video much more entertaining. I used my iPhone 6s, which takes impressive quality photographs.

Another thing I did was be sure to shoot behind the light so the photos were not overexposed.

When it was time to edit the photos in Photoshop, my favorite tool was the crop tool. I wanted to get rid of all the unnecessary action in the background so the viewer could only see the food. I think this added emphasis.

I darkened some of the photos of the raw meat in order to make it look a bit more appetizing. I realized during my editing process that food can sometimes look squeamish if it is not photographed well.
